Creating the best conditions for vocational training of youth and adults is one of the strategic priorities of Krosno. The city is open to cooperation with investors and is ever ready to provide highly qualified staff in accordance with the individual needs of employers from many industries, including: automotive, aviation, mechanical, mechatronic, oil and gas, electricity, electronic, ICT.

Vocational Education and Training for ENGINEERING

The State Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno

A modern university, cooperating with business while offering dual- study options.

Graduates who have attained the title of Engineer can either begin work or continue their education at universities of Rzeszów (60 km), Kraków (180 km), Lublin (230 km), Katowice (245 km) and Warsaw (350 km).

Krosno secondary schools offer a high level of vocational education and training, as the evidence shows from many high-profile all-Poland competitions and rankings.

Technical Schools offering the highest level of education:

The Electrical School Complex

  • Faculties: electrical technician, electronics technician, automation technician, IT technician.
  • For many years has been at the forefront of Polish technical schools education.

The Mechanical School Complex

  • Faculties: mechanics technician, aviation mechanics technician, mechatronics technician, robotics technician, automotive technician.
  • For many years has been at the forefront of Polish automotive schools education.
  • It has the most modern equipment, specialized workshops and laboratories of the Regional Centre for Vocational Education and Modern Technologies and the HAAS Technical Education Centre.

The Oil and Gas School Complex

  • The only school in Poland currently schooling technicians for the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Faculties: drilling technician, geology technician, open-pit mining technician, gas industry technician, welding technician, logistics technician, locksmith.
REGIONAL CENTRE FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND MODERN TECHNOLOGIES

The Regional Centre of Vocational Education and Modern Technologies is based here in Krosno. It has the latest ‘new generation’ equipment and devices, purchased as part of a project financed by the resources of the Regional Operational Programme of the Sub-Carpathian Voivodeship. The modern infrastructure is designed for the education of CNC machine operators, CNC programmers, specialists in CAD/CAM designing techniques, mechanical engineers, mechatronics engineers, welders and aviation mechanics. The laboratories are used as part of the education process of the Krosno secondary school students.

Mechanical and mechatronics laboratories:

  • diagnostics of machines and devices,
  • maintenance and repair of machines and devices,
  • combustion engines and vehicle construction,
  • electrotechnics combined with mechatronics,
  • dedicated mechatronics,

  • high precision CNC machining,
  • conventional machining,
  • CNC programming,
  • CAD/CAM design,
  • thermo-chemical treatment,
  • welding.

Aviation laboratories:

  • materials technology and aircraft structures and constructions testing,
  • aviation ground service and aircraft repairs,
  • construction and operation of aircraft,
  • flight simulation – possessing the Elite Evolution S812 FNTP II flight simulator, in the aircraft class of Piper Arrow, Piper Seneca, Cessna 172 RG,
  • practical navigation utilising two tourist moto-gliders Pipistrel Sinus, two two-seater training gliders, ALLSTAR PZL – PERKOZ, two single-seater training gliders, ALLSTAR PZL – JUNIOR, assisted by launching winches and glider trailers,
  • radio navigation.

In spite of the fact that the rate of registered unemployment in the Municipality of Krosno belongs to the lowest ones in the country, there are many opportunities to find employees. Krosno is a commercial hub which attracts employees from neighbouring counties and districts.

Number of workers commuting to work in Krosno: 17 379 people.

Among those commuting to work in Krosno, the majority are residents of the Krosno county (74%). Following are counties: Jasło (8%), Brzozów (8%), Sanok (3%), and Strzyżów (3%). In total, 96% of all incoming workers come from the Krosno county and neighboring counties.

On the other hand, 3,328 residents of Krosno commute to work in other municipalities.

Krosno exhibits a significant surplus of people commuting to work over those leaving – the ratio of employment-related flows stands at 5.22. In this regard, among county comparisons, Krosno ranks second in Poland (after Warsaw).

Local labor market characteristics, including access to skilled workers, are crucial factors in investment decision-making. Data confirms that Krosno has significant potential to attract workers from outside the city. Residents commuting to work to larger and more distant centers from Krosno, also represent an important asset for investors. This group may be interested in employment opportunities within our city, given the attractive and well-paid jobs generated by investment projects.
