AIRFIELD

The airfield in Krosno was constructed in 1932. At that time it was one of the largest airfields in Europe with the then, ‘state of the art’ facilities.

Now under expansion, the airfield is an important asset, stimulating the economic development of Krosno and the surrounding region. The owner of the airfield is the Municipality of Krosno itself and it is managed by the municipal company Lotnisko Krosno Sp. z o. o.

THE AIRFIELD’S FUNCTIONS:
  • The flying training centres’ base provides training for pilots, aviation mechanics and ground personnel.
  • It houses an aviation sports centre, flying club and provides recreational aviation.
  • In place are infrastructure facilities necessary for aviation sector manufacturers, including light and ultralight aircraft manufacturers and aircraft services businesses.
  • It provides a base for passenger small air communication (air taxi, business and tourist traffic).
  • Excellent facility for air freight transport services (cargo).
 
AVAILABLE INFRASTRUCTURE/ LAND DEVELOPMENT:
  • asphalt and concrete constructed runway, 1100 meters x 30 meters,
  • runway lighting and the PAPI approach path indicator, providing a possibility of flight operations after dusk,
  • taxiways,
  • aprons/hardstands,
  • airport self-service fuelling station (AVGAS 110 LL, UL 91),
  • full meteorological support,
  • manoeuvring area for flying-club aviation,
  • large aircraft hangar.

The infrastructure facilities are designed to perform flight operations by aircraft with a wingspan of 24 m, which can carry up to 45 passengers on board, including such aircraft as  the ATR -42, Cessna Citation Jet M2, Cessna Caravan, Saab 340, Beechcraft King Air C-90 and the AN-28.

The airfield Master Plan focuses on a target extension to the existing runway of up to 1710 meters, including expansion of the current aircraft lane taxiing system and aprons/hardstands and will also see implementation of the latest innovative technologies and procedures of satellite-aided navigation.
